ICCRC is a private not-for-profit corporation with powers as a regulatory body vested via ministerial powers under section 91 of IRPA. Previously the minister had designated this regulatory status to CSIC. ICCRC’s mandate is to protect the public interest and not the membership. ICCRC is performing this role via its bylaws and regulations.
There are several other independent groups of members and one association which acts as a lobbyist and appears to be representing the membership as well.
What is the reality? We don’t need to get into that; the truth is wide open.
At current time there are around 4000 ICCRC members who are licensed Immigration consultants (RCIC). A majority of the membership is not properly represented and educated about their rights and believe that it’s time to get united via an association which can truly represent and watch out for the best interest of the membership only, and will have following characteristics:
We can assure you that the only thing we need at this time, to go for it, is courage and will, true spirit, and to know we have all that is required to put this in business and reality and the time is NOW.
Disputes or dissatisfaction with UCICA:
Not a problem, since all our services are free and for an objective cause, lobbying and support for each other. You may simply disconnect if you wish, and this can be done via a simple email message.
Your affiliation with UCICA is not mandatory or for anyone else’s interest. It is for objective interest and you don’t have to be a part of it, if not wiling and satisfied.
The only way you can voice your message freely and express your experience, good or bad, is via UCICA’s open blogs. You are encouraged to do so by respecting the given rules and letting other members make their own decisions.
You may also contact the members support committee to discuss such a situation and seek a better resolution.
