Sometimes it is very hard to get an exact position or answer from IRC (IRCC)-CBSA office on any past or an ongoing immigration application file. In reply to such request all you can get is a general procedural information or reply. Refusal letters are also generally prepared based on pre-printed letter and may not indicate exact reasons for the decision. In any delayed response from designated IRC (IRCC)-CBSA office it is important to follow up with the file and assist client and the agency for proper direction.
The only way to follow up on file and get access to exact notes and records of decision maker is to process request under the Access to Information Act or The Privacy Act.
This quick reference guide based class will assist attendees to send a request to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (IRCC) under the Access to Information Act (ATI) to: Get information about IRCC; Get information that would have been created by IRCC; Get personal information submitted by a representative, where the client (with their consent) is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or here in Canada as well as to clearly understanding the complicated codes which are applied in such reports.
This learning session will not only cover the process of submitting the request for record search but also to the point education to understand the key codes used in these reports.
